When should I charge my new Macbook Pro battery so that it will last a long time?
What is the best way to save my battery longevity on my new Macbook Pro? I've heard everything from keep it plugged in as much as possible, let it run all the way down and die then charge it up to 100%, and to let it get down to 1% and then charge it up full. When should I charge my new Macbook Pro battery so that it will last a long time?
As long as you don't let it overheat (say by leaving it in a car in the Sun), it will last a long time almost no matter what you do. The other thing to avoid is leaving it dead for months at a time. Otherwise, battery longevity is basically not affected by what you do, and I recommend leaving it plugged in whenever possible so that it will be fully charged when you need it.
