The Child with Multiple Birth Defects $68.34 Syndromology is the clinical art of diagnosing children with multiple anomalies, many of which have specific diagnostic entities. Syndrome diagnosis is important because it fosters good patient care. As an unknown syndrome becomes delineated, its spectrum of anomalies, its natural history, and its recurrence risk become known, permitting better patient care and family counseling.brSo many syndromes with overlapping features have been described that confusion is common. This heavily illustrated book provides a rational work-up of patients with multiple anomalies. In lively fashion, the author discusses the history and clinical assessment of such patients, pointing out situations that require laboratory studies. He gives readers the necessary vocabularly and then discusses quantitative and qualitative approaches to the methodology of syndrome diagnosis. The volume concludes with chapters on dysmorphic growth and development, mental deficiency, and psychosocial considerations.brRapid advances in the field in recent years made fundamental changes to the text of the earlier edition necessary. The second edition has been completely reorganized and much new material has been added, including chapters on genetics, teratogens, minor anomalies, facial dysmorphology, syndrome classifications, and a guide to physical measurements. Since it emphasizes conceptual aspects, this book is suitable for medical students, pediatricians, medical geneticists, and other health professionals.br1. Syndromes, Associations, and Sequencesbr |

Is It Possible To Teach Creativity? Learn How!
However, today as the world is progressing at such a fast pace, there are many people who develop the creative instinct in them much later in life, and some of these people are those who, in their childhood have never shown even the slightest creative bent. This reasoning has given birth to a new way of thought.
People who find this idea logical give the reasoning that a person’s background and his environment have a direct influence of his or her creativity. Thus creativity can be taught.
Supporters of the former school of thought defend their stance with the argument that if there were no creativity in a person at all, how would factors such as environment enhance it at all. Hence, they stick to their thought of the innateness of creativity.
This has been the topic of a long-standing debate between these schools of thought. However, the fact that creativity in itself is a very subjective term and may not mean the same to everyone is also a factor that has led to this debate. Different people have different perceptions and definitions of creativity.
So at least for now, to bring everyone to the same place, we will take creativity as a means of imagination and innovation. Innovation entails changes, and also to be able to adapt and adjust yourself to these changes. If innovation comes about through creativity, then the inference that can be drawn through this is that creativity can be taught and in fact is taught, be it at home or in schools.
We had been bestowed with many facilities at birth, however without knowing how to use them, we would have been left in a lurch. The same is the case with creativity. Even if we were born with certain creative traits, this creativity would not serve any purpose if we did not get proper education or teaching.
When we are born into this world, we know nothing about our future. Since our future was so uncertain, everyone around us, like our teachers and parents taught us all that we needed to know, in order to fend for ourselves. But so early- on in life, one is not taught how to respond to changes. What we were taught is how to deal with changes in our environment by coming up with creative and innovative solutions. So we can easily concede that creativity can be taught.
One cannot actually measure a person’s creativity, as creativity is an instinct that emerges only in particular situations. Thus standardized tests to determine the creativity of a person are not very accurate. Who knows when the creativity of a person springs up? And in the same vein, how does one decide whether one is creative or not. This debate about whether creativity can be taught or not however, is a never-ending debate. The role of education too is under the scanner where this debate is concerned.
Such debates will continue, but what one should be thankful about is that one is born as a human and has the privilege of participating in such debates. The final consensus to these debates may never be reached. But, our reactions and decisions of the issue rise from nothing but our creativity.
