An ounce of prevention is worth one pounds cure. This is a very good saying to live by every day. But especially in the current economic situation. With governments and companies go under around the world no. It is perhaps a good idea to prepare yourself for the worst with a well-built survival kit in case the worst actually happen. I know this may sound extreme, and nobody wants the worst to happen, but again an ounce of prevention is worth one pounds you heal.
There are many things that go into a well-built survival kit. Some of the obvious things no perishable food, bottled water. The reason you want to eat and drink when things get to the point that the food is hard to get. I would at least try for two or three months of food and water storage for my kit. It is better to have and not need to need it and not have.
Other things you might want to take toothpaste and tooth Brush. Together with other health related items. Dental floss deodorant, shaving cream, razors, and mouth wash. You might even want to throw things like toilet paper there too. A well stocked first aid kit is a must, rubbing alcohol, and a small tool box.
The reason it a good idea for a small tool kit in your survival kit is that if things are bad you should just have to work with what you already have. So this means things down instead of going out and obtaining new. A Flash Light and many of the batteries. It would be good to have candles as another source of light. A small radio, and a few warm blankets.
Maybe wool clothing. I say always stay warm wool because wool even though it is still very wet insolate you. Some Long John underwear coats and things to help keep you and your family warm, keep warm and maybe something important when hard times come.
These are things that most people would think of making a survival kit. Here are some things that most people would not think, but it may be important is not so important. To begin some sort of hard currency. Gold or silver. If the country you are in the economy of paper money is that it will not be worthless. But gold and silver will always be worth something as having gold or silver would be a very good investment.
You also need a few good knives in your set also. Knives are a great tool. They can be used for many things. More importantly they can be used to defend all of the things I have just mentioned. In difficult times. If something could prevent you to go hungry and cold, others may try to take. If it is to make children hungry or you, they will leave you hungry. That is why I would recommend a few good quality knives in your kit, and if you can afford to gave a gun and ammunition in your kit I would also recommended.
