On Taking Pictures for eBay. It is also very important ...
First, the best piece of kit for taking pictures for eBay is the Digital Camera. This will be what you want to invest in it at some point, but you can use any old camera to begin with ... (You need a scanner for your PC if you do it that way.)
A digital camera usually comes with what is called a Usb Cable. This plugs into the back of your camera and connects to your PC so you can your photos. But, for the pro, what do you know if a flash card. This card can store blooming 'loads of pictures and if you want to convey, you can use of the USB cable or you can buy a separate flash card reader.
The flash-card reader plugs into your PC. Everything you do is remove the card from your camera and plug those in the reader to transfer your photos.
Whatever you decide to do, a crucial piece of your digital camera kit.
Now, lights!
You're going to need some real expensive lighting equipment to buy for about two thousand pounds ... OR ... just go outside during the day!
Ideally a cloudy day was best. The clouds spread the sunlight perfectly. If you check no clouds the picture to take away from the sun to avoid glare. You know, those translucent Mon-like objects diagonal cascade down your brilliant pictures!
Now, a technical term. Background.
The background environment is the object you are photoing inches is ideal, The background should not distract the eye from the main object. It should really encourage the eye and away from the object. The best way to do this is to use a setting that is exactly the opposite color of the object.
Here is a table of contrasts ...
Red Turquoise
Brown Very Light Blue
Purple Light
Orange Light
Yellow Blue
Very light green red
Black White
Try your best to find FELT like material that is the opposite color (or as near as dammit) on the object. Felt is the most friendly video material.
Drape it over a chair and felt something and place your item on the top. You are now ready to break away.
Of course, these are just basics and only applies to items that fit on a smallish chair. And this kind of picture is just one of five types you want take the possible sale of the item.
I will talk about the different types of pictures later. For now, let's finish with the basic ...
The condition of the item you photoing is crucial. Especially as digital cameras are so sensitive that they can retrieve fingerprints, hair, lint and even dust.
So prepare your item as if the Queen came to see it!
Get a magnifying glass and take a good 10 minutes looking for brands. Remove this by breathing on them and gently rub with a clean sock or something that does not leave behind pieces of tissue.
Do that first. Take a small fine brush, about 25mm (1 ") wide at most, and gently brush the object. Take this time also.
Finally, make sure your lips are dry, so you do not 'spray the' object with saliva, are approximately 250mm (10 ") range and hit a bit off losses. Take it easy. Do not pass out. 3 eruptions at a time Max. Now place the object in the background and you're ready to begin breaking away.
